What You Will Do in This Role
As an Analyst, HR Employee Service Centre, you will play a key role in supporting the administration, reporting, and analysis of pension and benefits programs. Leveraging your expertise in Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, workforce analytics, OMERS pension processes, and data governance, you will transform complex data into meaningful insights that support informed decision-making, operational excellence, and an exceptional employee experience.
Working collaboratively with HR teams, people leaders, and business stakeholders, you will contribute to the delivery of accurate pension and benefits reporting, continuous process improvement, and strategic workforce insights that support Peel Region's People Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Meaningful Insights
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics that support pension, benefits, and workforce-related decision-making.
- Analyze workforce data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders.
- Respond to ad hoc reporting requests by collecting, validating, and interpreting complex employee data.
Support Pension and Benefits Administration
- Partner with Pension and Employee Central Benefits teams to review and validate pension-impacting transactions, ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and reporting integrity.
- Support the administration and reporting requirements associated with OMERS pension participation and enrollment processes.
- Monitor data quality and identify opportunities to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Lead Critical OMERS Reporting Activities
- Coordinate the preparation, validation, and submission of monthly and annual OMERS remittance and compliance reporting.
- Ensure reporting deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and data integrity.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve reporting discrepancies and support audit requirements.
Drive Continuous Improvement
- Conduct gap analyses and identify opportunities to improve Employee Service Centre and benefits administration processes.
- Gather business requirements and support the design and implementation of process enhancements, procedures, protocols, and training materials.
- Participate in system upgrades and enhancement initiatives that improve service delivery and reporting capabilities.
Validate Solutions and Ensure Data Integrity
- Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) activities for system enhancements, reports, dashboards, and process changes.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex HCM queries and reporting solutions.
- Ensure data integrity through testing, validation, auditing, and ongoing quality assurance activities.
Enable Knowledge Sharing and Client Support
- Create job aids, training materials, and communication resources related to pension and benefits processes.
- Attend OMERS information sessions and workshops to stay current on regulatory and program changes.
- Develop documentation and educational resources to support employees and leaders in understanding pension-related processes and frequently asked questions.
Collaborate and Consult
- Build strong working relationships with HR teams, business leaders, and subject matter experts.
- Collaborate across functions to identify business needs and develop practical reporting and analytical solutions.
- Translate complex data and technical information into clear, meaningful recommendations for diverse audiences.
What You Bring
You are an analytical and service-oriented professional who enjoys solving complex problems, improving processes, and helping others understand and use data effectively.
You bring:
- Expertise in Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, pension administration, benefits processes, and OMERS reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize large datasets into meaningful business insights.
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
- A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging.
What the Role Requires
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience analyzing employee transactional data within a Human Resources environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft HR Applications, ServiceNow, OMERS reporting processes, or comparable HCM platforms.
- Experience working within a unionized environment and understanding collective agreement provisions is considered an asset.
- Advanced experience developing and maintaining queries and reports using tools such as PeopleSoft Query, SQL, or similar reporting technologies.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Power Query), Power BI, HCM systems, and pension-related reporting tools.
- Experience managing large, complex HR datasets while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to translate data into meaningful insights, reports, and visualizations that support decision-making.
- Strong organizational, planning, project coordination, and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork.

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection. A minimum of two days per week on-site is expected, with additional in-person presence as operational needs evolve.
