Humana is seeking a highly strategic and relationship-driven leader to serve as Principal, Strategy Advancement – Partnerships. This role will be responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships with external technology partners that enable Humana's operational excellence, member experience, and long-term growth objectives.

The Principal will act as the primary liaison between Humana and key technology partners, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, improve business outcomes, and accelerate enterprise initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with leaders across Product, Technology, Strategy, Data & Analytics, Marketing, Finance, Procurement, and Channel leaders to align partnership investments with strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate combines expertise in strategic planning, partnership management, technology ecosystems, and executive stakeholder engagement, with the ability to translate complex technology opportunities into measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Partnership Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for external technology partnerships that aligns with Humana's enterprise priorities.
  • Partner with channel and operational leaders within Humana to understand their priorities and translate those priorities to external partners.
  • Develop deep expertise in partner capabilities, product roadmaps, market trends, and strategic priorities to identify opportunities that create mutual value for both Humana and partner organizations.
  • Build business cases supporting partnership investments and growth initiatives.

Strategic Partner Management

  • Serve as the executive relationship lead for key technology partners, establishing governance models, operating cadences, and success metrics for each partner.
  • Ensure partner strategies align with Humana's goals related to growth, member experience, operational excellence, and innovation.
  • Conduct executive business reviews and performance evaluations with partner organizations.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts and strategic roadmap development.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, enhance member engagement, and create competitive advantages through technology partnerships.
  • Support innovation pilots, proof-of-concepts, and scaling initiatives.

Executive Influence

  • Present strategic recommendations and partnership opportunities to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Provide thought leadership regarding healthcare technology trends and market innovation.
  • Represent Humana in strategic discussions with technology executives and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 8+ years of experience in strategy, business development, technology partnerships, consulting, digital transformation, or healthcare operations.

  • 5+ years leading enterprise-wide initiatives or strategic programs.

  • Experience managing complex external partnerships, vendor relationships, or technology alliances.

  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment.

  • Strong business acumen and financial analysis skills.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation capabilities.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale strategic initiatives from concept through execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MHA, or relevant advanced degree.
  • Experience within healthcare, health insurance, managed care, or digital health organizations.
  • Experience working with technology providers
  • Background in corporate strategy, management consulting, innovation, or digital transformation.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data, interoperability, member engagement platforms, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Experience presenting recommendations to executive leadership teams.

Additional Information

Work at Home Requirements: To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. In certain roles, the minimum recommended internet speed required by Humana may not be sufficient for business needs. Humana reserves the right to require associates to upgrade their internet service if necessary. Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

 

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$138,900 - $191,000 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
