Employee Benefits Account Manager
Job Summary
Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Employee Benefits Account Manager to join well-respected employee benefits brokerage team. As an integral part of team, you will manage a portfolio of small group accounts, ensuring exceptional service and support for clients. This position is ideal for a professional with a strong customer service orientation and a solid understanding of insurance concepts.
Compensation Package
- Salary Range: Up to $60,000 annually, with additional commission opportunities for upselling coverage on existing accounts.
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance.
Responsibilities
- Process client eligibility changes and ID card requests with accuracy and within specified timeframes.
- Respond promptly and accurately to client and internal inquiries.
- Maintain and update the client management portal with the latest information.
- Communicate effectively with clients and carrier representatives to address needs and resolve issues.
- Attend team meetings to stay informed about agency policies, procedures, and industry updates.
- Provide exceptional support to clients, fostering trust and loyalty.
- Navigate online portals efficiently to access and update client information.
- Handle renewals, light open enrollment presentations, enrollments, and claims for small group accounts (primarily fully insured, with some level-funded accounts).
- Communicate carrier decisions to clients and escalate issues to carrier representatives when necessary.
- Quote new and renewal business as required.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Licensure: Active Life & Health (L&H) license required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in employee benefits account management or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Zywave Brokerage Builder software is preferred; experience with BenefitPoint is a plus.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks with precision and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism: Demonstrated ability to respond promptly to communications, complete assessments, and maintain professional etiquette (e.g., sending thank-you notes).
