M&A Director

As an M&A Director at BDO, you will be a trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, shareholders, investors and executive teams, helping them navigate their most important strategic decisions. From acquisitions and divestments to growth financing and business transformations, you will lead complex transactions from strategy through execution.

 

Beyond deal delivery, you will play a key role in strengthening client relationships, developing new business opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of BDO’s M&A Advisory practice.

What will you be doing?

In this role, you will take ownership of high-impact M&A and corporate finance assignments, while playing a key role in client development, team leadership and practice growth.

• Be the trusted advisor to entrepreneurs, investors and senior executives, helping them navigate strategic growth, acquisitions, divestments and financing decisions.
• Lead high-impact transactions from strategy and origination through to negotiation and closing, across buy-side, sell-side and growth financing projects.
• Drive business growth by developing client relationships, identifying new opportunities and strengthening BDO's presence in the Belgian M&A market.
• Shape strategic decisions through financial analysis, valuation insights, due diligence and pragmatic deal advice.
• Structure and finance deals by advising clients on transaction structures, funding strategies and discussions with investors and lenders.
• Manage key stakeholders and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure a smooth and successful deal process.
• Deliver excellence by overseeing high-quality engagements and providing practical, value-driven recommendations.
• Develop future leaders by coaching and mentoring managers, consultants and analysts throughout their career journey.
• Leverage the power of BDO by collaborating with colleagues across Tax, Legal, Audit, Accounting and Consulting to deliver integrated solutions.
• Create value beyond the deal by helping clients realise growth opportunities and maximize transaction outcomes.

What do you bring to the table?

We are looking for an experienced M&A professional with strong deal execution capabilities, commercial maturity and the ambition to help grow our presence in the Belgian market.

• You have 10+ years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, transaction services, investment banking, private equity or a comparable advisory environment.
• You have a strong track record of leading complex buy-side and sell-side transactions, guiding clients from strategic planning and deal origination through to successful closing.
• You have an established network of entrepreneurs, business owners, investors, private equity professionals, bankers and other key market participants, which you actively leverage to originate deal opportunities and build long-term relationships.
• You are recognized for your commercial acumen and have a proven track record of developing business, generating revenue and contributing to the growth of an M&A or Corporate Finance practice.
• You combine strong technical expertise in valuation, financial modelling and deal structuring with a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach.
• You have proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams while managing multiple stakeholders in dynamic transaction environments.
• You hold a Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. Additional qualifications such as CFA are considered an asset.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a strong advantage.
• You are entrepreneurial, commercially driven and motivated to play a key role in the continued growth and success of BDO’s M&A Advisory practice.
