Responsible for providing estimating, detailing, and drafting support for concrete reinforcement projects by producing accurate material takeoffs, cost estimates, and AutoCAD shop drawings. Ensure reinforcement solutions meet project specifications while supporting sales, project management, and production teams through technical analysis and documentation.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Prepares detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for EWWR (Engineered Welded Wire Reinforcement) and conventional reinforcing steel projects.
Creates and revises 2D AutoCAD shop drawings, placement drawings, sections, and reinforcement details.
Reviews architectural, structural, and construction documents to determine reinforcement requirements and identify discrepancies.
Converts Grade 60 reinforcement designs to Grade 80 EWWR solutions and develops optimized reinforcement layouts.
Coordinates with sales, project management, and production teams regarding project requirements, specifications, schedules, and design changes.
Maintains project documentation, drawings, revisions, change orders, and estimating records.
Participates in project meetings and provides technical support related to quantity takeoffs, estimates, and drawing revisions.
Verifies material quantities and performs production-related takeoffs after project award.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

Work Environment
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.
Most of the time is spent sitting or standing in the same location and/or there may be a need to stoop regularly or move/lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Drafting, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of drafting experience using AutoCAD, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
Ability to read, review, and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
Experience in estimating, quantity takeoffs, material estimating, and bid preparation within reinforcing steel, precast, concrete construction, or related industries.
Ability to calculate material quantities and reinforcement requirements, supported by strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with experience using Bluebeam Revu and construction/project management software, along with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
