Job Description

Make an Impact Where Planning Meets Purpose

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll do meaningful work that helps make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Every day, our teams support pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers developing lifechanging therapies and medicines that improve patient outcomes around the world. As part of our manufacturing organization, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the right products are available at the right time to support customers who depend on us to deliver with quality, reliability, and speed.

As a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler II, you'll own the planning and scheduling activities that keep our manufacturing operations running efficiently and ensure our customers receive critical products when they need them. This isn't a role for someone who simply follows a schedule—it's for someone who enjoys solving puzzles, anticipating challenges before they happen, and driving action when things don't go according to plan.

We're looking for a self-starter who takes ownership, asks questions, and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo in pursuit of better outcomes. In return, you'll join a collaborative team that values initiative, supports professional growth, and works together to solve complex manufacturing challenges.

Responsibilities
As the link between customer demand and manufacturing execution, you'll:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules that balance customer needs, inventory targets, capacity, and operational priorities.
  • Monitor production performance and proactively identify risks to supply, delivery, or efficiency.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve issues and keep plans on track.
  • Analyze data, trends, and constraints to make informed planning decisions and recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve service, reduce waste, and optimize production flow.
  • Manage inventory levels and support capacity planning activities to ensure efficient operations., whilst also ensure EO levels are minimized and executable actions are in place.
  • Maintain planning master data, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), routings, and planning parameters.
  • Communicate priorities, risks, and opportunities clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  • Help create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

What Success Looks Like
You don't wait for problems to find you—you actively look around corners.
You enjoy understanding how things work, digging into data, and finding practical solutions. You can balance multiple priorities, stay calm when plans change, and build strong relationships across teams.
Most importantly, you're someone who takes ownership of outcomes while knowing when to seek support from the experienced team around you.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree with no prior experience required, or Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing planning, scheduling, supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or a related environment.
  • Experience working with data to support decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Industrial, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within a regulated industry.
  • APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) or similar supply chain certification.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with inventory management, capacity planning, and production scheduling.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with GMP/FDA regulated environments.
  • Track record of identifying opportunities for improvement and driving positive change.

Additional Information
We welcome candidates from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds who can demonstrate strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and the ability to solve complex problems. If you're excited by the opportunity and believe you have the skills to succeed, we encourage you to apply—even if your experience doesn't match every qualification listed.
