Twilight Patient Care Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for two Twilight Veterinary Care Assistants to join our friendly and experienced night team at Medivet Dorchester 24 Hour, a refurbished hospital located just a short drive from the breath-taking Jurassic Coast. The initial contract will be for 12months with the option to extend into a permanent role within the business.

This is a part-time role, covering up to 26 hours per week across a rolling shift pattern (proposed 4 on, 4 off with weekend work included) essential to maintaining the hospital’s commitment to covering OOH services for the surrounding practices. This role is ideal for someone looking to make the most of a unique evening role in a busy, well-equipped hospital, working alongside an outstanding clinical team.

Dorchester 24 Hour is a multi-disciplinary hospital with a strong regional presence, providing out-of-hours cover for five Medivet branches and seven non-Medivet practices. You’ll be part of a supportive night team that includes certificate holders in diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, dermatology and Emergency Critical Care.

Our nursing team is central to everything we do. We’re an RCVS-accredited training practice, so you’ll have the opportunity to learn from a dedicated nurse and vet team to provide excellent care for our clients and their pets. • CT scanner (internal and outpatient referrals) 

• Digital x-ray and ultrasound 

• Dental X-ray 

• Endoscopy 

• Two sterile surgical suites 

• Dedicated in-house laboratory 

• Hydrotherapy unit (staffed two days per week) 

• Peripatetic physiotherapist 

• Isolation facilities 

• Separate dog and cat wards, plus ISFM Silver Cat Friendly status 

• 24/7 care supported by ECC-certified night vet and nursing team 

• Dedicated nursing roles centred around exceptional patient care
