In this position...
- The Ford Land Electrical Engineering position supports Subject Matter Expert (SME), power distribution, emergency systems and facility controls. In addition, the position supports facility manufacturing facility sites in North America.
- Candidates must be versed in the NEC, building codes, regulatory requirements and sustainable design principles and ARC flash mitigation and safety.
- This position provides strategic engineering direction and technical direction on electrical systems to our customers. The position leads the design review of new construction projects, renovations and capital infrastructure programs across all of Ford’s strategic business units.
What you'll do...
- As subject matter expert, evaluate the safety of equipment, processes and designs, ensuring compliance with codes, regulations and standards.
- Lead facility electrical and implementation teams of engineers, contractors, from design through launch
- Drive standards and processes with a focus on globalization, continuous improvement, benchmarking and technical innovation.
- Participate in strategic planning, including infrastructure budgeting.
- Drive the use of new technology, construction methods, and materials to maximize capital investment efficiency and sustainability.
- Deliver collaborative engineering services (CES) to a diverse team of project implementers and site engineers. Ensure prompt and thorough engineering direction, collaboration, evaluations, alternatives analysis, and feasibility studies.
- Collaboration with Global Safety related to ARC flash, a good understanding of ARC Flash mitigation and effects on manufacturing sites.
You'll have...
- BS Electrical Engineer or Electrical and Computer Engineering
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in at least one of the following:
- Facility or process design.
- Manufacturing
- IoT or machining control system design.
Even better, you may have...
- Advanced development including PE Registration
- Experience with programming/troubleshooting Niagara based BMS controls
- Implementation experience of NFPA, MIOSHA, ICC, BOCA and other compliance requirements
- Demonstrate expertise in strategic planning with creating a keen understanding of delivery requirements and overall long-term goals
- Capability to perform, design review and implementation with an emphasis on safety, smart capital investment strategies, sustainability and maintainability, utilizing innovation and industry best practices
- Demonstrate technical innovation, leadership and growth
- A passion for continuous learning, technical challenges and the voice of the customer
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900.
This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
