What you'll do...
Role summary:The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems across commercial and industrial facilities. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and performing preventive maintenance to optimize system performance. The Technician collaborates with management and team members to deliver quality service, supports training initiatives, and manages service calls efficiently. Adherence to operational standards and effective communication with customers and partners are essential to sustaining reliable facility operations.
About the team:
The team consists of 14 skilled technicians dedicated to maintaining and repairing refrigeration and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance. They collaborate to provide preventive maintenance, timely troubleshooting, and effective problem resolution. Team members apply expertise in HVAC controls, refrigerant management, and equipment repair while following safety and environmental standards. This group fosters a professional environment focused on continuous improvement, clear communication, and dependable service delivery to support facility operations and meet business needs efficiently.
What you'll do:
- Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork and control panels, ensuring compliance with building codes and operational specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to optimize system performance and extend equipment life.
- Adhere to OSHA and EPA 608 refrigerant handling standards during all service activities.
- Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
- Manage service calls, documentation, and coordinate with external providers as needed.
- Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings.
- Ability to interpret layout plans, schematics, and comply with building codes and HVAC/R regulations.
- Skilled in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of EPA 608 refrigerant handling protocols and OSHA safety standards.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical issues and collaborate with customers and team members.
- Capability to lead and mentor technicians and apprentices in technical and safety procedures.
- Proficient in using digital tools for scheduling, inventory tracking, and service documentation.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate company vehicles safely.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00 - $58.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.Option 2: 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report.• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
