Job Summary:

The Experienced Associate, HNI, Domestic & Global Mobility Tax is responsible for the preparation and coordination of U.S. tax compliance engagements for High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs), domestic taxpayers, globally mobile employees, trusts, estates, and gifting structures. The role supports the end-to-end tax compliance process through the preparation of complex tax returns, technical analysis, client communication, and coordination with engagement teams. The Experienced Associate is expected to develop strong technical expertise across individual, trust, estate, gift, and international tax matters while ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely completion of engagements.

Prerequisites:

2-3 years of experience in U.S. Individual Tax Compliance, including HNI, domestic, and/or global mobility taxation. Experience preparing U.S. tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, 709, and 706. Basic understanding of multi-state taxation, trusts and estates, foreign reporting requirements, and international individual tax compliance. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical research capabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-service mindset. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering accurate and high-quality work. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, tax compliance software, and workflow management tools. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Job Description:

  • Prepare U.S. individual, fiduciary, gift, and estate tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, 709, and 706.
  • Assist in the preparation of complex tax returns involving high-net-worth individuals, trusts, estates, partnerships, and globally mobile employees.
  • Analyze tax documents and financial data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with applicable federal, state, and international tax regulations.
  • Prepare workpapers, tax calculations, and supporting schedules for review by senior team members.
  • Research technical tax issues and assist in analyzing tax implications related to individual, trust, estate, gift, and mobility tax matters.
  • Coordinate with clients, advisors, and engagement teams to gather information, track open items, and resolve outstanding queries.
  • Support the management of multi-state tax filings, foreign information reporting, and international compliance requirements.
  • Monitor engagement timelines and proactively communicate status updates to ensure timely delivery of tax returns.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and documentation throughout the compliance process.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of standardized procedures and best practices.
  • Assist in training new team members and share technical knowledge with peers as experience grows. Adhere to firm policies related to confidentiality, data privacy, risk management, and quality control.
