Description
The Wrap Care and Friday Fun Camp Teacher is responsible for planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate activities for school-aged children in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. This role supports children’s social, emotional, academic, and physical development outside of regular school hours and ensures a smooth transition between home and school. This position reports to the Parks and Recreation Director and general working hours include Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM – 11:30 PM and Fridays 8:00 AM – 4 PM. Hours may vary based on school schedule and site needs. This position is needed when programs are hosted from September through June at the Jackson Community Center, and follows the West Bend School District Calendar.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Plan and implement a variety of enrichment and recreational activities that are developmentally appropriate.
- Serve as a role model for staff and participants.
- Provide a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere that fosters positive relationships with staff, families, and children.
- Work collaboratively and adaptably within a team environment.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, school staff, and program supervisors.
- Manage student behavior in a positive and respectful manner using approved behavior management strategies.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and incident reports as required.
- Assist with snack preparation, meals, cleanup, and organization of program materials.
- Follow all safety and organizational policies and procedures.
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Other duties as necessary and assigned by supervisor.
- Must be at least 14 years of age.
- CPR/First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Ability to work with children in a structured setting.
- Ability to work with children with disabilities and the ability to adapt activities to meet diverse needs.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check if 18 years of age or older.
