A Day in the Life

Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) team members are seasoned professionals with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare value chain, as well as breadth of experience across multiple disciplines. They are able to partner with hospital management teams to drive complex transformational change, implement innovative growth strategies, streamline patient-focused care pathways and run and optimize operations.

The UK Process & Controls Lead is responsible for ensuring effective adoption and governance of operational processes and controls across IHS UK & Ireland. The role oversees the UK Risk & Control Matrix (RACM), operational risk management, business continuity activities, and UK-specific process requirements to strengthen governance, audit readiness, and operational performance. This role is remote and must be based in the United Kingdom, supporting stakeholders across the UK & Ireland region while partnering closely with global process owners and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Lead the governance, implementation, and continuous improvement of operational processes and controls across Integrated Health Solutions UK & Ireland
  • Own and maintain the UK Risk & Control Matrix (RACM), ensuring key controls are documented, monitored, and operating effectively
  • Design, document, and govern UK-specific processes, approved local process deviations, and associated mitigating controls
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Compliance, and other stakeholders to improve process performance, governance, and control effectiveness
  • Monitor process compliance, conduct control reviews, and drive remediation activities to address identified risks, gaps, and non-conformances
  • Lead operational risk management and business continuity activities, including risk assessments, mitigation planning, testing, and governance reporting
  • Collaborate with global process owners to support process improvement initiatives and ensure alignment between local operating requirements and global standards

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience, in Operations, Supply Chain, Process Excellence, Internal Controls, Risk Management, Governance, or related business functions
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, compliance frameworks, and governance processes
  • Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring business controls, governance processes, and control effectiveness activities
  • Experience supporting audits, control testing, remediation activities, and ongoing compliance monitoring
  • Experience driving cross-functional process improvement initiatives within a matrix environment, including strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong process mapping, process documentation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex operational issues into practical business solutions

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
