General Notes

The Texas Athletics Applied Sports Science Department currently supports the health and performance of over 500 student-athletes across 21 sports. Applied Sports Science is dedicated to leveraging the latest research in human performance to enhance student-athlete health, development, and performance. St. David’s HealthCare currently partners with Texas Athletics to provide seven applied sports science positions embedded within Texas Athletics. In 2018, St. David’s also contributed capital funds to establish the Center for Applied Sports Science inside Darrell K. Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium (DKR-TMS). In 2025, St. David’s pledged additional contributions to build a new Recovery and Restoration Center, also inside DKR-TMS, with completion expected in 2026. The St. David’s HealthCare Applied Sports Science Fellowship represents a continuation of the commitment to excellence and world-class care that has defined this partnership since 2011.
