TULEA HEALTH OVERVIEW

At Tulea Health, we are compassionate partners seeking to elevate the infusion experience for patients through collaboration with the health systems that serve them. We create industry-leading Ambulatory Infusion Centers that deliver comfortable, consistent, caring therapy experiences personalized for each patient. Our innovative model does not compete with our health system partners but rather operates under their brand. We provide the financial investment, resources, personnel, supporting technology, and specialized expertise needed to drive success through a performance-oriented partnership model.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Nurse Practitioner serves as the clinical lead for the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC) and is responsible for coordinating and supervising the provision of infusion therapy to all patients. This provider owns order clarification, patient evaluation, care planning, education, medication preparation, infusion administration, and monitoring the safety and effectiveness of therapy. Collaborating with ordering providers, the AIC Medical Director, and AIC clinical and operational staff, the Nurse Practitioner delivers high-quality, safe, and cost-effective care while achieving high levels of patient satisfaction. The NP also partners closely with the General Manager to drive clinical, operational, and quality improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a clinician with an advanced level of clinical knowledge, an exceptional bedside manner, and a passion for creating an extraordinary patient experience. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, standard business hours, with no weekends or on-call responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the clinical lead of the AIC, supervising day-to-day clinical operations, including all care provided by Infusion RNs
  • Perform focused patient assessments to support development of the infusion care plan, in coordination with ordering providers and the AIC Medical Director
  • Determine appropriate venipuncture and/or catheter sites, establish intravenous access, and prepare medications for infusion using aseptic technique
  • Administer infusions via electronic pump, flow-restricted tubing, or gravity as indicated
  • Observe patients’ response to infusion therapy, document results in the electronic health record, and identify, assess, and provide medical intervention for infusion-related reactions
  • Provide education to patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, diagnosis, goals of therapy, and the treatment plan
  • Foster a culture of safety, reporting, and continuous quality improvement
  • Manage daily operations of all non-clinical departments of the AIC in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring appropriate resolution or escalation of all matters
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with health system providers and stakeholders
  • Ensure care is delivered in compliance with applicable laws, rules, requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies and procedures, including appropriate documentation of complaints, grievances, errors, adverse events, and other unanticipated outcomes

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU…

  • Are a licensed nurse practitioner in the state of Maryland
  • Have experience administering infusions of biologic therapies and managing infusion-related reactions
  • Demonstrate an advanced level of clinical knowledge with an exceptional bedside manner
  • Are a clinical leader who enjoys supervising, coaching, and supporting infusion nurses while fostering a collaborative, supportive culture
  • Apply strong critical thinking to proactively identify, assess, and respond to issues within the AIC
  • Are capable of working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external customers to promote quality care and outstanding service
  • Communicate with impact, including active listening, speaking, and effective writing, and can organize a multi-faceted workload for efficient use of time
  • Demonstrate cultural competency, compassion, and advocacy across the health care team

REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES

  • Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Current, unrestricted Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) certification with the Maryland Board of Nursing (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • Minimum of two years of CRNP experience; infusion experience with biologic therapies preferred
  • Board certification in a relevant area preferred
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Ability to work on-site at the assigned client location during normal operating days/hours

WHAT WE OFFER
