OVERVIEW
 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Workday Compensation & Benefits Specialist/Analyst to support and optimize the client's compensation and benefits programs within Workday. This role combines strong HRIS expertise with compensation and benefits knowledge to ensure accurate employee data, effective program administration, compliance, reporting, and a positive employee experience.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Workday HCM and compensation and benefits functionality, strong analytical skills, and the ability to partner effectively with HR, Payroll, Finance, and other business stakeholders.

Location: Remote, US only
Contract Length: 3 Months
Hours: PST

Pay: $60-65/h W2

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Workday compensation and benefits processes and functionality.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Workday business processes related to compensation and benefits.
  • Maintain employee compensation, benefits, eligibility, and related HR data with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Support Workday releases, enhancements, testing, and system improvements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and process controls.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate compensation and benefits processes.
  • Support annual compensation planning, merit increases, bonuses, promotions, and other compensation programs within Workday.
  • Maintain compensation plans, eligibility rules, grades, ranges, and related configurations.
  • Partner with HR and Finance on compensation data analysis, audits, and reporting.
  • Prepare compensation reports and analysis to support business and HR decisions.
  • Conduct data validation and reconciliation to ensure compensation information is accurate and compliant.
  • Support market pricing, job evaluation, and compensation benchmarking activities as needed.
  • Administer and support employee benefits programs through Workday, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, life, disability, and other benefit offerings.
  • Maintain benefit plans, eligibility rules, rates, and enrollment configurations.
  • Support annual open enrollment activities, including testing, communications, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with benefits vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve eligibility, enrollment, and data issues.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations between Workday and benefits providers.
  • Support benefits compliance and required reporting.
  • Create, maintain, and enhance Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • Analyze compensation and benefits data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide accurate and timely data to HR leadership, Finance, Payroll, and other stakeholders.
  • Support audits and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Partner with Total Rewards, Payroll, Finance, IT, and other teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expertise on Workday compensation and benefits processes.
  • Participate in system implementations, integrations, testing, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive employee and compensation information.
 
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • 4+ years of experience in HRIS, compensation, benefits, or related HR operations.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday HCM, particularly Compensation and Benefits.
  • Strong understanding of compensation and benefits principles and processes.
  • Experience with Workday reporting, business processes, configuration, and data management.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred
  • Workday certification in Compensation, Benefits, or related modules.
  • Experience supporting Workday implementations, enhancements, or major system upgrades.
  • Experience with annual compensation cycles and benefits open enrollment.
  • Knowledge of HR, payroll, and benefits integrations.
  • Experience with compensation benchmarking and market analysis.
  • Familiarity with applicable compensation, benefits, and employment regulations.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
