The Access Van Driver will provide door to door prescheduled van rides around campus for students with disabilities. The Accessibility and Disability Resources office evaluates students' needs in an ongoing way and schedules rides to allow students to get to and from class Mon-Friday. There are also opportunities for additional driving hours during final exams, commencement, and reunion weekend.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma
Must have a clean driving record and be trained on the operation of the accessible van; experience driving is a bonus
Timely and dependable. This role requires someone who can be depended upon weekly. If someone is late or absent, there is a direct negative impact on students.
Accommodating. Working with students with disabilities requires folks to be understanding of differences. A willingness to work with individual students with compassion in important
Team player. The van drivers work very collaboratively to ensure full coverage throughout the week. Willingness to work with others is necessary
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer’s sponsorship now or in the future.
Salary:
The pay rate for this role is $17 an hour.
Flexibility & Schedule:
This is an intermittent, fixed-term, non-benefits-eligible role approved for up to 10 hours per week.
