Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming work, Beca’s Environmental Advisory team is seeking an early-career Environmental Scientist with 2 - 4 years of professional experience. Based in Auckland or Wellington, this is an exciting opportunity to help solve real world client problems by combining your passion for the environment with your technical capabilities. Join a team with a reputation for excellence in practice, and a shared passion to understand and solve environmental issues.
This role will primarily work within our water quality discipline, with a focus on wastewater management for our major infrastructure clients and New Zealand’s new water service entity operators. However, you can expect to support our broader environmental disciplines as required, which could offer exposure to a range of tasks such as water quality assessments, wetland or lizard surveys, and test pitting with the contaminated land team.
Other responsibilities will include:
Undertaking team-based or independent field work at locations across the country
Environmental construction monitoring, and soil and/or water sampling
Completing desktop and site analyses to prepare technical reports which support a range of environmental projects, such as options assessments, resource consent applications and compliance
Maintaining and developing great relationships with internal and external clients.
As a Beca Environmental Scientist, you will join our national Environmental Advisory team. The team consists of trusted advisors, ecologists, water quality and air quality scientists, environmental specialists, and others in complementary disciplines such as sustainability, planning and engineering; all of whom are committed to achieving great environmental outcomes.
