 We are seeking an experienced SAP Technical Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support SAP solutions within a complex enterprise environment. This is a hands-on technical role with a primary focus on SAP ABAP development, EDI/IDoc integrations, and SAP technical support.

The successful candidate will partner closely with functional analysts, business stakeholders, end users, and other technology teams to translate business and functional requirements into secure, scalable, reliable, and supportable SAP solutions.

This role will contribute to both traditional and modern SAP development practices, with an emphasis on clean-core principles, governed extensibility, integration, performance, and long-term maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, deploy, and support SAP technical solutions across multiple SAP modules.
• Translate functional requirements into technical designs, development approaches, estimates, and scalable solutions.
• Develop and maintain SAP applications and technical components, including:
  • ABAP reports
  • Enhancements and BAdIs
  • Forms
  • Workflows
  • Object-oriented ABAP classes
  • CDS views
  • OData services
  • Fiori/UI5 applications
  • Interfaces and integrations
• Design, develop, and support inbound and outbound IDoc interfaces, including extensions, mappings, processing logic, and error handling.
• Develop and support integrations using technologies such as IDocs, ALE, BAPIs, RFCs, APIs, OData, web services, batch processes, and file-based interfaces.
• Troubleshoot interface failures, IDoc processing issues, data inconsistencies, and other SAP technical problems.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement both immediate fixes and long-term preventative solutions.
• Monitor interface processing and proactively identify issues that could impact system performance, data integrity, or business operations.
• Collaborate with functional teams to investigate and resolve production issues.
• Optimize ABAP programs, interfaces, and technical processes for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Apply SAP clean-core principles by utilizing appropriate extensibility frameworks, released APIs, enhancement technologies, and other approved development approaches.
• Evaluate and utilize approved AI-assisted development tools where appropriate to improve development efficiency, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while maintaining security and quality standards.
• Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, testing, deployments, and change management activities.
• Follow established enterprise standards for development, security, governance, project delivery, and change control.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical SAP systems and integrations.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• 5+ years of professional SAP ABAP development experience in an SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with ABAP development, including reports, enhancements, BAdIs, forms, workflows, classes, and object-oriented programming.
• Strong experience developing and supporting SAP integrations and interfaces, including IDocs, ALE, BAPIs, RFCs, APIs, OData services, and web services.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues involving interfaces, data processing, and SAP applications.
• Experience supporting ABAP development across multiple SAP functional areas, such as SD, Finance, MM, PP, WM, HCM, or related modules.
• Strong understanding of IDoc processing, including inbound and outbound processing, message types, extensions, error handling, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with modern SAP development technologies is preferred, including:
