The Opportunity:
Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and versatile associate to provide laboratory and logistics support on-site at Baxter, in Braine-L’Alleud. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, is service-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable supporting a variety of operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations:
- Prepare and label laboratory materials, including biological media, buffers, and mobile phases, in accordance with approved procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support the receipt, preparation, storage, and shipment of samples.
- Ensure compliance with site procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Support laboratory washroom (laverie) activities, Inventory & Stock Management
- Manage stock levels and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Monitor consumables and laboratory materials to ensure business continuity.
- Organize warehouse and sample storage areas to maintain an efficient and compliant environment.
- Participate in stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
Ordering & Procurement:
- Place and track orders for laboratory consumables, reagents, and operational supplies.
- Follow up with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain purchasing records and documentation as required.
Sample & Shipment Management:
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
- Prepare shipping documentation following site procedures and regulations.
- Receive, track, package, and dispatch samples while maintaining complete traceability.
- Liaise with couriers and logistics providers.
Logistics Support:
- Manage logistics access requests and coordinate site access requirements.
- Support warehouse operations and material movements across the site.
- Ensure proper organization and storage of materials and samples.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills:
- Experience in laboratory support, logistics, warehouse operations, or inventory management is an asset.
- Good understanding of stock management principles.
- Ability to work with computerized inventory and ordering systems.
- Good command of English (written and spoken).

Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
- Able to move materials and manage stock organization activities.
- Comfortable working at height when organizing samples and warehouse storage areas.
- Must not have a fear of heights (sample storage and warehouse organization may require working on ladders or elevated storage areas).
Flexibility & Cross-Site Support:
- This position is primarily based at Baxter.
- However, the successful candidate may occasionally be asked to provide support at the UCB site when operational needs require it.
- Although this is not a regular requirement, flexibility to support another site is expected.
- The employee should be comfortable adapting to different environments and teams while maintaining the same level of service and professionalism.
Working Environment
This role combines laboratory support, logistics coordination, stock management, ordering activities, shipment management, and operational support. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting Baxter's day-to-day laboratory and logistics operations while delivering excellent service to internal customers.
