Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities live as independently as possible by helping and training in daily living skills. They support community integration and, when applicable, teaches skills related to home responsibilities to maintain health, safety and quality of life in the person’s home or community.

• Successfully completes the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
• High School Diploma
• Must possess a valid Driver's License with all necessary endorsements and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
• Proficient with WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK and basic computer skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in the English language (both written and verbal) is required as this job entails direct care of persons receiving services. Employees are required to communicate, both orally and in writing, with staff and others regarding medical care, supports, and services. This requirement includes the ability to effectively communicate in English including medical terminology

Essential Functions:

• Maintains a respectful and professional relationship with residents and all stakeholders
• Provides residents with building independence in daily routines and life skills
• Provides help with personal care, community participation, household tasks, and communication
• Provide support with light household chores (laundry, cleaning and organizing)
• Encourages social engagement and participation in meaningful activities
• Responds to questions or requests for assistance from people receiving services
• Identifies and reports any suspected abuse or violations of a person receiving services’ rights
• Provides support, assistance and supervision to meet the needs and goals of the individuals according to their plans
• Completes individualized documentation upon completion of service delivery
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Compensation and benefits estimated range: the pay range represents the base hourly rate or salary that the company in good faith believes it will pay for this position at the time of posting. Final compensation is determined by factors including geographic location, skills, education and relevant experience.
