JOB TITLE: Pathways Food Pantry Coordinator

PROGRAM: Pathways Food Pantry/Food Distribution

REPORTS TO: Director of the Food Pantry

FLSA STATUS: Part-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position will oversee part-time staff and volunteers working at the Food Pantry during the scheduled shift.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Pathways Food Pantry Coordinator assists the Director of Food Pantry. This position will coordinate distribution, donations, and volunteers for the Pathways Food Pantry.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position will work approximately 25 hours per week:

  • Tuesdays-Thursdays 5 hours per day at the GUM Client Choice Food Pantry. 
  • Fridays 3:00-7:00 PM and Saturdays 9:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Pathways Food Pantry. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Client Choice Food Pantry on Tuesdays-Thursdays. Duties include directing part-time staff, sorting food, stocking shelves and coolers, and assisting clients.
  • Supervising the operations of the Pathways Food Pantry on Fridays and Saturdays. Duties include supervising part-time staff and volunteers and managing distribution of food. 
  • Train staff and volunteers on the Link 2 Feed system. Enter all new client applications daily in the Link 2 Feed system on iPad/tablet. 
  • Work with the Development Specialist on volunteer needs and manage volunteer schedule for both food pantry locations. 
  • Inform the Director of the Food Pantry of needs and concerns related to the food pantry locations. 
  • Participate and assist with the semi-annual Food Drive, as needed.
  • Treat all volunteers, employees, and clients with respect, sincerity, and compassion.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties may be deemed necessary as assigned by management.

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Computer, Copier, iPad/tablet, Telephone, Floor jack, Flatbed car, Hand truck.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Varying temperatures from cold in winter to hot in summer. 

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience preferred. 
  • A valid driver's license is required and must have own reliable transportation.
  • Ability to drive company van is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 65 pounds or more.
  • Standing, carrying, reaching, sitting, walking, push/pull, and bending.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with visitors, staff, and leadership with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be compassionate, flexible, and demonstrate the ability to interact with diverse people and situations.
