Property Accountant | Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid) · $120K–$175K
About the Role: This role owns the financials for a defined property portfolio — month-end close, the general ledger, and the reporting that goes out to investors. A real estate management company in Brooklyn is hiring a Property Accountant to keep those books accurate and current in a fast-paced environment. The person in this seat is the one who spots discrepancies and resolves them before they reach a report.
Key Responsibilities
Close & Reconciliation
- Run month-end close for an assigned property portfolio
- Oversee bank reconciliations
- Maintain and review balance sheets
Reporting
- Prepare and package financial reports for investors
- Own the accuracy of portfolio financials end to end
Portfolio Oversight
- Monitor the books for the assigned portfolio on an ongoing basis
- Identify and address discrepancies and issues as they surface
Qualifications
- Accounting experience required
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
