VP, Sr Lead Strategy & Transformation
Nuveen is seeking an experienced VP, Sr Lead of Strategy and Transformation that will be a part of Nuveen Global Investment Operations. Directly supporting the Head of Core Public Operations, it will help lead strategic initiatives across the team while serving as a subject matter expert supporting global equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, and OTC derivatives trading and operations. It will proactively seek out efficiency and process improvements, leverage technology and AI to streamline workflows, and help build new complementary capabilities to support the growth of the business. The role will provide thought leadership for Core Public Operations and work closely with and support the Head of Core Public Operations' direct reports as a trusted subject matter expert.
In addition to supporting strategic initiatives and automation, this role provides operational support for resolving complex business issues and enabling business growth, including new market assessments, the implementation of new investment instruments, and the operational response to regulatory requirements. This role will also review operational processes to identify and mitigate risk and may be called upon to support high-priority business issues and challenges, including production support escalations, where quick, decisive action is needed to address risk. This role will work closely with Nuveen's investment, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams, in addition to critical business partners such as brokers, custodians, fund admins, and outsourced service providers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Head of Core Public Operations to lead, manage, and support a portfolio of projects and strategic initiatives.
- Closely collaborate with Trading, Technology, and Operations to support strategic initiatives through business analysis, development, testing, and implementation.
- Lead transformation projects, focused on opportunities to deploy automation and AI technologies to improve operational process and strengthen capabilities.
- Incorporate a risk management mindset, focused on identifying and mitigating operational risk through continued process improvement and enhanced operational controls. Develop standard operating procedures and remediation plans to address operational risk.
- Proactively identify opportunities for efficiency and process improvement across Core Public Operations, bringing forward recommendations and driving implementation in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to the Head of Core Public Operations' direct reports, providing guidance across equity, fixed income, FX, and derivatives operations.
- Respond to high-priority business issues and production support escalations as needed, helping to quickly assess, triage, and resolve operational risk in a fast-paced environment.
- Support the development of new operational capabilities to enable business growth, working cross-functionally to design and implement scalable solutions.
- Oversee and support operational due diligence for new markets and new investment instruments.

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in asset management specifically in investment/trading operations
- 5+ years of experience supporting FX and/or OTC derivatives
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ more years of experience working in asset management specifically in investment/trading operations supporting FX and/or OTC derivatives
- Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to lead cross-functional teams and initiatives
- Experience leading and/or contributing to enterprise transformational projects
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, without extensive direction
- Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate issues with internal/external stakeholders and present highly technical subject matter at an appropriate level for the target audience
- Controls mindset, ability to partner with Compliance and Risk Management to advance the business and mitigate risk
- Experience with or strong understanding of various derivatives instruments across equity, fixed income, FX, and credit asset classes
- Experience with or strong understanding of global equity and fixed income trading
- Broader knowledge of Investment Operations
- Strong knowledge of derivatives trade lifecycle and support across bilateral, listed, and cleared derivatives trading workflows
- Understanding of Investment Management products (Pension funds, Mutual funds, Separate accts)
- Knowledge of order management systems and/or electronic trading systems to support derivatives and FX trading
- Experience with Bloomberg AIM, Charles River Investment Management System
- Experience working with outsourced service providers
- Experience with supporting global trading and operating within a "follow-the-sun" global operating model
- Experience leveraging technology and/or AI tools to streamline operational workflows and drive efficiency
- Strong Project Management Skills
- Ability to run meetings and drive results
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a dynamic business environment
Anticipated Posting End Date:
2026-09-04Base Pay Range: $139,000/yr - $221,000/yrActual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
