We are looking for a Commercial Lending Intern to join our team this summer!
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in your field of interest. You will learn how to support the business day-to-day, manage project work, develop your network, and engage in professional development. This internship is ideal for individuals who are curious, relationship-oriented, adaptable, and eager to learn about the many facets of commercial banking.
What You Will Do:
- Exposure to the various aspects of commercial lending, including servicing a variety of secured and unsecured loans and lines of credit.
- Support commercial lenders to identify and solicit profitable business deposit and loan relationships to target new business.
- Handle simple customer accounts
- Engage with different segments of the bank for increased exposure and networking. These areas include Internal Audit, Investments, Finance & Accounting, Credit, Mortgage, Branch Banking, Marketing, etc.
- Participate in educational sessions and trainings to develop and enhance core skills and industry knowledge.
- Attend networking sessions with other interns from CBI, and other banks, to learn from banking professionals and engage in teamwork sessions.
- Present your experiences and projects at the end of the summer.
- Travel periodically between bank locations, customer meetings, training sessions, and community events as business needs require.
- Build relationships with banking professionals, customers, and local Centers of Influence while observing how commercial relationships are developed and maintained.
Requirements
What You Have:
- Candidates should be working towards a Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a major in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or Business Administration. Junior-level coursework is preferred.
- A minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant work experience, internships, leadership experience, or involvement in related activities such as student organizations, tutoring, business fraternities, or community engagement.
