About the Role
As a Facilities Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the planning, maintenance, and improvement of facility infrastructure and operations. Working alongside Facilities and Engineering teams, you will contribute to projects related to building systems, utilities, sustainability initiatives, and operational efficiency while developing technical, analytical, and project management skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with facility and infrastructure projects, including planning, design support, analysis, and implementation activities.
- Support efforts to improve operational efficiency, utility usage, and sustainability performance.
- Help develop and maintain technical documentation, engineering drawings, specifications, and project records.
- Provide drafting and design support for facility layouts, systems, and infrastructure updates.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution and operational objectives.
- Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support facilities engineering and operations initiatives.
Must Have Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Ability to organize technical information and maintain accurate documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, or technical documentation.
- Experience with AutoCAD or similar computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Basic understanding of building systems, utilities, facility infrastructure, or sustainability concepts.
- Exposure to data analysis, project work, or engineering-related coursework.
- Interest in facilities operations, engineering project management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
