Every individual deserves a home that is safe, secure, and their own. NOVA’s ICF/IID program was developed to provide a caring home and community to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The program serves adults from 18 to 70 years of age with dual diagnoses of intellectual disability and a comorbid psychiatric condition. Individuals receive comprehensive care based on their needs. Our goal is to promote resiliency, community integration, and independence in the individuals we serve.
About the Position:
The On-Call Habilitation Technician provides as-needed coverage in NOVA’s residential and/or day treatment program. This position may be called upon to cover staffing needs related to employee absences, vacations, emergencies, or other scheduling needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing supervision, guidance, and support to individuals served.
- Following individual Habilitation Plans, policies, and procedures.
- Helping maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
- Assisting individuals with daily living activities and basic needs.
- Supporting individuals in developing independence and community integration skills.
- Communicating effectively with individuals, families, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Completing required documentation accurately and timely.
- Responding appropriately to behavioral or other needs as they arise.
- $13/hr
Requirements
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
- Dependable and able to work independently.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow established policies and procedures.
- Genuine desire to support adults with intellectual, developmental, and mental health disabilities.
Preferred:
- Experience in human services, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or residential care.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Flexible availability and willingness to accept additional shifts when needed.
