Description

Sportsman Boats is looking for a hands-on Electrical Designer to help bring our electrical systems from engineering design to the production floor. If you enjoy troubleshooting, solving problems, and working with your hands, this could be a great fit.

You’ll work closely with Engineering and Production to install, test, troubleshoot, and validate 12V DC and AC electrical systems on our center console boats.

What You'll Do

  • Install and integrate electrical components, wiring harnesses, and connectors.
  • Troubleshoot 12V DC electrical systems using multimeters and diagnostic tools.
  • Test and validate electrical systems to ensure they work as designed.
  • Support new product development and engineering changes on the production floor.
  • Identify root causes and work with Engineering and Production to implement solutions.
  • Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings and help keep installation documentation up to date.
  • Support CAN bus integration and diagnostics.

What We're Looking For

  • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of electrical experience in manufacturing, marine, automotive, aerospace, or a related industry.
  • Strong 12V DC troubleshooting skills and experience using a multimeter.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • A hands-on, problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Someone who is curious, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.

Marine experience, CAN bus knowledge, wiring harness experience, experience with Rhino/Solidworks, and familiarity with Yamaha/Mercury systems is a plus!

Why Sportsman?

At Sportsman, you won't just design from behind a desk. You'll see your work come to life on the production floor and ultimately on the water.

We offer a Monday–Thursday schedule, competitive pay, opportunities for growth, and a team that values Accountability, Teamwork, Quality, and Innovation.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday | Start times between 5:00 AM–5:00 PM
