Clinical Specialist – Cardiopulmonary Physical Therapy - Days - Cornell Campus

The Rehabilitation Medicine Department at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is one of the largest in the nation. With more than 50 years of experience, we have assembled a team of professionals that is unparalleled in experience and expertise throughout various clinical areas, helping to lead the way in advancing our specialty.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a physical therapist, the Clinical Specialist serves as a clinical resource to staff, provides input to clinical programming, and participates in departmental and hospital education programs and service excellence initiatives. Viable candidates will demonstrate advanced clinical skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of cardiopulmonary patients and early mobilization in the ICU setting. Experience working in critical care ICUs is necessary. This position supports multiple cardiac and pulmonary ICUs and step-down units.
This is a Monday-Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 position, with occasional weekend and holiday coverage.
Preferred Criteria
5 years experience on cardiopulmonary and acute care services.
Experience in acute care and critical care ICU settings including cardiothoracic post surgical ICU, Medical and Cardiac Medical ICU.
Knowledge of patients with heart failure and devices including LVAD, ECMO, ventilator managed patients. and early mobilization in the ICU setting.
Required Criteria
2 years of experience as a practicing physical therapist
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy
New York State Physical Therapy License
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
