Supervision: Director of Regional Transition, Northern Region
Work Year Requirements: Part-time, Year Round
Overview : The Part-Time Instructional Transition Facilitator/Job Coach delivers Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) work-readiness instruction and provides job coaching to adolescents and adults with disabilities. Working collaboratively with the Vocational and Transition Services team, this position supports individuals in developing career goals, job-readiness skills, and the skills needed to successfully perform workplace tasks. Responsibilities also include implementing effective classroom and job-site support strategies, monitoring progress, and maintaining communication with teachers, the Regional Director, and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors.
Responsibilities:
- Create and modify Pre-Employment Transition Skills (Pre-ETS) work readiness curriculum for students with IEP and 504 plans
- Deliver Pre-ETS work readiness curriculum in middle and high schools
- Implement classroom management strategies and provide ongoing communication to teachers, Director of Regional Transition and Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor about course content and student progress
- Coordinate community assessment placements with school, student/family, and business partner.
- Provide on-site support which enables the students to learn the job tasks and integrate naturally into the business work routine. Liaison with business personnel regarding support needs of students placed, student’s work performance, and creating natural supports
- Analyze job tasks and work environments to plan appropriate training, supervision, and support services for clients placed in assessment or work development activities
- Observe and record client performance and work behaviors and complete required assessment reports
- Maintain ongoing communication with ORS Counselor, school personnel and family regarding progress of student/client
- Submit all required reports in a timely manner
- Other tasks as assigned by Administrator
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum Associates degree in human services, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with adolescents, knowledge of developmental, mental health, physical, and learning disabilities
- Preferred experience leading groups of youth
- Excellent communication skills and writing skills
- Have a safe driving record and be willing to transport students and clients in agency vehicles.
