  • Create engaging social media content highlighting City employees, departments, services, events and community initiatives.
  • Produce multimedia content for digital information boards, televisions and displays located throughout City Hall and other City facilities.
  • Assist with interviews, promotional videos, educational content, event coverage and other department projects.
Strategic Communications

  • Participate in strategic communication planning, brainstorming and content development.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal departments, external partners and members of the public.
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
  • Stay current on photography, videography, social media and digital content trends and recommend new approaches when appropriate.
  • Maintain and properly care for City-owned photography, video, audio and lighting equipment.
  • Ensure all photographs, raw footage, project files and completed content are properly organized, archived and retained on City-approved storage systems.

  • Apply a working knowledge of graphic design, composition, typography and branding when developing multimedia content.
  • Assist with basic graphics, motion graphics and visual elements for digital content when needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mass media, marketing, broadcasting, communications, journalism, photography, graphic design or a related field.

  • Proficiency with professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, lighting, audio and video production equipment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro, with working knowledge of Illustrator, After Effects and Audition.
  • Knowledge of video pre-production, production, post-production, audio, lighting and motion graphics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize assignments and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, including digital asset management and file organization.
