Position Overview:
Position Description:
The Guam Defense System (GDS) Test Assessment & Analysis Lead provides analytical and technical leadership for pre-flight performance assessment and test readiness. The position leads the review of performance predictions, assumptions, data, models, and expected outcomes to identify technical risks and deficiencies before test execution.
The GDS Lead coordinates inputs across engineering, modeling and simulation, test organizations, program offices, mission partners, and other stakeholders. The position ensures analytical products are technically sound, assumptions are aligned, data is traceable, and identified issues are addressed before execution. The GDS Lead provides Integrated Fires Directorate /GDS leadership with clear assessments of expected performance, risks, deficiencies, and test readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
The GDS Test Assessment & Analysis Lead leads the development and review of pre-flight performance predictions, ensuring analytical assumptions, data inputs, models, and methods are appropriate and aligned with test objectives. The position evaluates expected system performance, identifies gaps and technical risks, and coordinates corrective actions with engineering, integration, modeling and simulation, and test organizations.
They plan and facilitate Joint Data Reviews, ensuring required technical inputs are complete, validated, and aligned. The position coordinates across engineering, test, modeling and simulation, and mission stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, validate assumptions, and establish a common understanding of expected system performance.
The position assesses analytical and technical readiness prior to test execution and maintains traceability between performance predictions, test objectives, and observed results. The JDR Lead coordinates with modeling and simulation teams to ensure models reflect applicable system configurations, environmental conditions, and mission parameters.
During test execution, the GDS Test Assessment & Analysis Lead provides analytical support as required, evaluates emerging information against pre-flight predictions, and identifies potential impacts to test objectives or mission assessment. The position develops pre-flight analysis, risk assessments, corrective action tracking, technical summaries, and leadership briefings to support IFD/GDS decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
- US. Citizenship and ability to support Department of Defense programs.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, data science, or operations research, or equivalent relevant experience and a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Experience with test planning, pre-flight analysis, performance prediction, or technical assessment of complex defense systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data, evaluate assumptions, and identify performance risks.
- Experience coordinating technical activities across engineering, test, modeling and simulation, and mission stakeholders.
- Ability to lead technical reviews and drive resolution of identified deficiencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to leadership.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with missile defense, fires, integrated air and missile defense, or other complex defense systems.
- Experience with modeling and simulation, trajectory analysis, sensor performance, weapons performance, or system-level performance prediction.
- Familiarity with Army developmental testing, operational testing, test planning, or operational assessments.
- Experience leading Joint Data Reviews, technical reviews, data validation efforts, or similar cross-functional technical assessments.
- Experience with system performance analysis, verification and validation, or test result assessment.
- Familiarity with GDS architecture, system interfaces, and mission systems.
- Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance is required
