This  role would be a good fit for someone looking to gain practical IT support experience, such as a technology student, recent graduate, or someone with basic computer hardware and troubleshooting experience. The role does not require advanced technical experience but requires a high level of comfort working with computers, following documented processes, staying organized, and asking questions when needed.

What you'll be doing:

The primary focus of this role will be to assist with onsite Help Desk operational tasks in the Vancouver office, including:

  • Clean up and organize the Help Desk work area, including auditing hardware, equipment, accessories, and devices currently stored or waiting to be processed.

  • Review computers and laptops that have been set aside to determine whether they are outdated, no longer usable, eligible for reuse, or ready for recycling.

  • Follow the approved process to securely wipe devices using Blancco before they are recycled or redeployed.

  • Prepare devices that are still under warranty and suitable for reuse, including confirming physical condition, completing security wipe procedures, and identifying whether warranty repairs are required.

  • Coordinate or assist with warranty repair steps for reusable laptops that have hardware issues.

  • Build and prepare new laptops for deployment to new employees or existing users who are exchanging old or broken devices.

  • Assist with laptop swaps, including preparing replacement equipment and ensuring returned equipment is handled properly.

  • Audit all Vancouver office hot desks to confirm that local network connections, docking stations, monitors, power, and related peripherals are working as expected.

  • Maintain accurate records of equipment reviewed, wiped, recycled, repaired, reused, or deployed.

  • Assist other Help Desk team members with onsite support tasks as needed.

  • Support basic hardware, software, printer, phone, and device-related work where appropriate.

  • Participate in project-related and operational cleanup tasks as assigned

What you'll have:

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, laptops, monitors, docking stations, cables, and common peripherals.

  • Comfort working with Windows laptops and following step-by-step technical instructions.

  • Strong attention to detail, especially when tracking equipment status and following secure wipe procedures.

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to keep work areas clean, labeled, and easy to manage.

  • Good communication skills and willingness to ask for help when something is unclear.

  • Ability to follow established Help Desk standards and security procedures.

  • Reliability and accountability when handling company equipment.

  • Interest in learning more about IT support, device lifecycle management, and corporate hardware processes.

  • Previous help desk, desktop support, co-op, school lab, retail tech, or personal computer repair experience would be an asset, but is not required.

  • Experience with inventory tracking, laptop imaging, or asset management would be helpful.

  • Experience with Blancco or other secure wipe tools would be an asset, but training can be provided.

Nice to Have

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a technology, computer science, information systems, or related program.

  • Basic troubleshooting experience with laptops, docking stations, monitors, and network cables.

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems or inventory tracking.

  • Interest in hardware lifecycle management, endpoint support, or IT operations.

  • Basic understanding of data security and why devices must be securely wiped before reuse or recycling.
