Job Description
Compliance Officer/Specialist
The Headhunter LTD Albania, daughter company of The Headhunter Group, for its prestigious client operating in the field of International Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) & Services, is looking for a Compliance Officer/Specialist.
About the role
Our client is seeking a Compliance Officer/Specialist to establish and lead their internal risk-prevention framework in Tirana. This role operates internally as a proactive strategic partner. Embedded within daily operations, you will identify, evaluate, and resolve legal, labor, and operational risks before they impact the organization. This role will serve as the primary operational link between Executive Management, external legal counsel, state regulatory authorities, and external accountants.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational & Risk Audits: Evaluate internal business workflows, job roles, commercial agreements, client records, and system access levels to flag potential legal or regulatory non-compliance
- Centralized Legal Interface: Consolidate fragmented legal queries, standardizing interactions with external lawyers and converting isolated issues into structured enterprise compliance items
- Governance & Internal Systems: Design long-term corporate compliance protocols covering employee standard operations, client data handling, labor laws, and foreign worker/expatriate management
- Scalability Support: Establish structured governance so that rapid company growth does not overload executive management or rely entirely on external legal retainers
- System Deliverables: Conduct audits of active software systems, user permissions, page functions, and internal data structures (in collaboration with external counsel) to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Employee Training Manuals, Permission & Role Access Control Frameworks, Formalized Job Descriptions, and Data Access & Privacy Guidelines
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law
- Bar License is preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate compliance, internal audit, or legal advisory, ideally within a foreign-invested enterprise (FIE) or multinational corporate structure
- Thorough knowledge of local labor codes, corporate governance, tax compliance basics, and data protection regulations
- Professional proficiency in English and Albanian
- Strong track record of working effectively with state agencies, external attorneys, and financial auditors
