As we open our new Texas plant, we are seeking a Packaging Electrical Supervisor to establish and lead our Packaging Electrical department. The Packaging Electrical Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing the installation, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for generator packages, controls, and power generation enclosures. This position will help establish department standards, develop employees, and build the foundation for future growth while driving safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives.

We design and build backup power packages, including tanks and enclosures, for healthcare, industrial, and technology-driven customers that require uninterrupted power at all times. Job Summary
The Packaging Electrical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Packaging Electrical department and leading a team responsible for wiring, installing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems on generator packages, control systems, switchgear, and power generation enclosures.
The ideal candidate will possess strong electrical installation experience, proven leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage production schedules, employee development, quality standards, and safety requirements. This role combines technical electrical expertise with operational leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to customer specifications.
As the Texas facility continues to expand, this position will play an important role in developing team members, implementing standardized processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and building a high-performing electrical installation department.
Essential Job Functions
Department Leadership & Production Management
• Lead and supervise Electrical Installers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality electrical installations.
• Manage daily department activities to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
• Plan labor allocation and assign work based on production priorities and business needs.
• Monitor department productivity and workflow to ensure operational goals are achieved.
• Coordinate activities with Packaging, Engineering, Quality, Production, and Operations teams.
• Communicate production status, staffing needs, challenges, and opportunities to plant leadership.
• Support achievement of departmental and facility performance objectives.
• Help establish department standards and operating procedures for the Texas facility.
Electrical Installation & Technical Support
• Provide hands-on technical guidance related to electrical installation, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities.
• Review electrical drawings, schematics, panel layouts, and specifications prior to production activities.
• Ensure electrical installations meet engineering requirements, customer specifications, and company quality standards.
• Support troubleshooting efforts and assist in diagnosing electrical issues throughout the manufacturing process.
• Verify proper installation of electrical components, controls, equipment, and power distribution systems.
• Promote established electrical workmanship standards and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and company requirements.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
• Monitor workmanship quality and ensure installations meet customer and company expectations.
• Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, workflow, and productivity.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and operational excellence programs.
• Assist with development and maintenance of work instructions and standardized procedures.
• Drive consistency through training, accountability, and process improvement.
Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements, and company safety policies.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the department.
• Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe behaviors or conditions immediately.
• Ensure proper PPE usage and safe work practices are followed at all times.
• Support safety training initiatives and incident investigations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support compliance with company quality and operational standards.
Employee Development
• Train, coach, mentor, and develop Electrical Installers and department personnel.
• Support onboarding, skills development, and cross-training initiatives.
• Establish and communicate performance expectations related to safety, quality, attendance, and productivity.
• Foster teamwork, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Assist in identifying and developing future leaders within the organization.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical installation experience in manufacturing, industrial, power generation, construction, or related environments.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.
Highly Preferred
• Experience with generator systems, switchgear, controls, and power distribution equipment.
• Manufacturing or industrial electrical installation experience.
• Experience leading electrical installation teams.
• Experience supporting startup operations, plant expansions, or new facility launches.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
• Experience working with testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
Preferred
• Technical certification, trade school training, or equivalent education in Electrical Technology or a related field.
• Journeyman Electrician license or similar electrical certification.
• Experience with ERP, production management, or manufacturing software systems.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and manufacturing quality systems.
• Advanced root cause analysis and corrective action experience.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing, production, and warehouse environment and may include both indoor and outdoor work areas. Employees may be exposed to varying temperatures, elevated noise levels, airborne particles, dust, fumes, moving machinery, forklifts, material handling equipment, and active manufacturing operations.
The position requires regular presence throughout production areas to support employees, monitor quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safe and efficient operations. Required PPE must be worn at all times in designated work areas, and all safety procedures and training requirements must be followed.
