About the Role
As the Professional Support Lawyer within the Employment Group, you will play a central role in supporting the team's technical excellence, knowledge strategy and market-leading expertise.
Working closely with partners and lawyers across the group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the team's know-how, monitoring legal and regulatory developments, delivering training, enhancing precedent resources and supporting innovative approaches to legal service delivery.
This is a strategic role that combines deep employment law expertise with a passion for knowledge sharing, legal innovation and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will help ensure that the Employment Group remains at the forefront of employment law developments and continues to deliver exceptional value to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Strategy & Legal Know-How
- Develop, maintain and enhance the Employment Group's knowledge resources, precedents, templates and practical guidance materials.
- Lead the review and updating of precedent documents to reflect legal, regulatory and market developments.
- Identify opportunities to improve consistency, efficiency and quality through enhanced knowledge management practices.
- Support the development and implementation of the Employment Group's knowledge strategy.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across the team and the wider firm.
Legal Horizon Scanning & Technical Excellence
- Monitor developments in employment law, industrial relations, regulatory guidance and case law in Ireland, the UK and other relevant jurisdictions.
- Analyse emerging legal issues and prepare practical guidance for partners and lawyers.
- Provide technical support on complex or novel legal issues arising on client matters.
- Prepare legal briefings, technical notes and internal guidance on key developments.
- Support the team in maintaining its market-leading technical expertise.
Learning & Development
- Design and deliver technical training programmes for partners, associates and trainees.
- Coordinate onboarding and skills development initiatives for new team members.
- Develop learning resources, workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Support professional development initiatives across the Employment Group.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Thought Leadership & Market Profile
- Lead the preparation of employment law updates, client alerts, publications and briefing papers.
- Support the production of submissions, consultation responses and industry commentary.
- Contribute to conferences, seminars, webinars and client training programmes.
- Work with the Business Development and Marketing teams to support thought leadership activities.
- Help maintain and enhance the Employment Group's profile as a market leader.
Innovation & Legal Technology
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery through legal technology, automation and AI-enabled tools.
- Support the implementation and adoption of knowledge technologies and innovation initiatives.
- Develop processes and resources that improve efficiency and accessibility of legal know-how.
- Collaborate with the firm's Knowledge, Innovation and Technology teams on strategic projects.
- Promote best practice in the use of generative AI and other emerging technologies within the Employment Group.
Collaboration & Firm Contribution
- Work closely with partners and lawyers across the firm on multidisciplinary knowledge projects.
- Support the employment aspects of firmwide strategic initiatives.
- Build strong internal networks and act as a trusted technical resource.
- Contribute to cross-practice knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Champion the firm's values and commitment to excellence.

About the Person
Essential
- Qualified solicitor in Ireland, England & Wales or another recognised common law jurisdiction.
- Lawyer with a minimum of 4 years’ PQE employment law experience, typically gained in a leading law firm, in-house legal team or professional services environment.
- Outstanding technical knowledge of employment law and industrial relations.
- Excellent legal drafting, analytical and research skills.
- A strong interest in knowledge management, legal education and innovation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a Knowledge Lawyer, Professional Support Lawyer or similar role.
- Experience delivering legal training programmes.
- Experience developing precedents and know-how systems.
- Interest in legal technology, AI and innovation initiatives.
- Established profile in employment law thought leadership or professional education.
