Job Summary:

The Analyst III provides senior-level analytical, programmatic, and strategic support to the NNSA Office of Nonproliferation R&D. This position conducts research and analysis of complex national security and nonproliferation issues, develops executive-level products, coordinates with government and various stakeholders, and supports the planning and execution of programs that fulfill the program mission.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of nuclear nonproliferation programs, initiatives, and policy issues to support NNSA mission objectives.
  • Research, evaluate, and synthesize technical, programmatic, and geopolitical information to inform leadership decision-making.
  • Develop briefings, reports, correspondence, white papers, and executive summaries for senior government officials and stakeholders.
  • Support planning, execution, and tracking of nonproliferation programs, projects, and milestones.
  • Analyze program performance data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements.
  • Coordinate across federal agencies, national laboratories, international partners, and contractors to ensure alignment of objectives and activities.
  • Facilitate meetings, working groups, and interagency engagements; document action items and track follow-up activities.
  • Assist in the development and review of strategic plans, policies, budgets, and program documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, NNSA directives, and departmental policies.
  • Maintain awareness of national security priorities and assess their impact on nonproliferation programs.
  • Provide analytical support for congressional inquiries, audits, inspections, and program reviews.

 

Requirements and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Nuclear Engineering, Physical Sciences, National Security Studies, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting federal government, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, national security, or nonproliferation programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and present complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience preparing executive-level briefings and written products for senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of nuclear nonproliferation, counterproliferation, arms control, export controls, or related national security disciplines.
  • Strong critical thinking, research, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience coordinating among multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced government environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data analytics tools, and project management methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Requirements and Education:

  • Experience supporting NNSA, DOE, DOD, State Department, or Intelligence Community programs.
  • Experience working with U.S. national laboratories.
  • Experience with strategic planning, performance metrics, and program evaluation.
