Description
Summary
Maintenance and repairs of all pneumatic machines and line equipment. Understands all aspects of line and machine operation and offers assistance wherever needed. Must possess industrial maintenance experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive and predictive maintenance as scheduled.
- Advanced diagnostic troubleshooting, as well as complete teardown, rebuild and remanufacturing of machinery and related systems.
- Executes daily machine checks, lubrication, machine start-up, clean-up changeovers and adjustments to maintain the greatest operational efficiency.
- Maintenance and calibration of micro-processor-based control equipment, general instrumentation and electrical control systems
- Read and understand electrical schematic diagrams as well as industrial three phase 240V and 480V power distribution and VFD wiring practices.
- Troubleshoot, program, and/or replace Allen Bradley PLC’s equipment.
- Performs tests and calibration procedures using test equipment and instrumentation.
- Possess a broad general knowledge of welding techniques (i.e. MIG, TIG, Sanitary, Stick, etc.) and must be able to apply these techniques to various operations within the plant.
- Operate various power tools including but not limited to torque wrenches, calipers, and gauges in a safe and proficient manner.
- Ensure accurate parts assignments and equipment histories are maintained.
- Assist in the operations of the line and in training operators/mechanics on repairs, adjustments and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain continuous improvement and comply with all safety requirements.
- Works the hours required by the job in keeping all equipment ready for operation at all times, even if a break-down should occur.
- Acts as a capable trainer, able to instruct department personnel in proper use and care of equipment and in all phases of the work with a minimum of personal friction of conflict.
- Accurately uses different measuring devises including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, scales, gauges, and meters.
- Knows the appropriate uses for the several types of fire extinguishers installed at PaperWorks.
- Knows and maintains records of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and follows the guidelines closely.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Must follow all applicable ISO procedures and make recommendations for system improvements as identified.
- Must be capable of keeping accurate records, including the completion of all required forms.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at a minimum two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PAY RATES:
$25 and hour to $35 an hour, based on experience. Five years of experience required for $28 an hour and higher.
