1) Training & Coaching Team Leadership
- Coach and mentor Trainers and Mentors-in-Charge (MICs) to ensure consistent learning delivery and trainee readiness at pass-out.
- Lead and manage the Training & Development team with strong planning, prioritisation, and resource allocation.
- Oversee selection, onboarding, and capability-building of Mentors and Rank Trainers.
- Partner the Crew Performance & Engagement Manager to build a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with Scoot’s service values and operational goals.
- Oversee training operations and administration, including schedules, documentation accuracy, and follow-up reporting.
2) Governance, Standards & Fair Practices
- Serve as a Disciplinary Inquiry Panel member and Training Review Meeting Panel member to apply the disciplinary framework fairly and consistently.
- Set clear standards and ways of working for the team to drive alignment, accountability, and quality outcomes.
- Engage the Training & Development team to maintain morale, cohesion, and a shared sense of purpose.
- Ensure training execution aligns with internal controls, audit readiness, and regulatory expectations.
3) Training Budgeting & Resource Planning
- Manage the annual training plan and budget, including SEP training for cabin crew.
- Plan and manage training resources (e.g., venues, trainer capacity, MIC coverage) to meet operational needs.
- Review trainer and MIC manpower annually to ensure adequate coverage based on operational demand.
- Work closely with HR to explore and secure relevant training-related grants.
- Ensure sufficient pipeline of proficient cabin crew to support line operations.
4) Curriculum & Instructional Design Excellence
- Ensure training curricula and programmes comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Refresh curriculum to bridge performance gaps, meet evolving passenger expectations, and align with operational requirements.
- Apply strong instructional design to support different learning modalities and channels for better learning effectiveness.
- Systematically track curriculum and instructional design changes, ensuring clear governance and traceability.
- Upskill mentors and trainers in tools and facilitation skills to raise learning impact across the board.
5) Training Quality, Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain high training standards through quality assurance, evaluation, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Manage performance monitoring, audits, development and coaching for Training Mentors.
- Oversee Rank Trainer selection, training pathway and development framework, including targeted support and coaching.
- Oversee LMS and training-related systems to ensure effectiveness, data integrity, and user enablement.
- Use insights from performance trends and stakeholder feedback to strengthen training outcomes and consistency.
6) Materials, Manuals & Record Keeping
- Review and update training materials to ensure currency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Ensure revisions are tracked systematically with proper version control and documentation discipline.
- Manage revision and publication of training manuals including Cabin Crew Manual (CCM) and Trainee Guide.
7) Additional Contributions to Cabin Services
- Lead planning for marketing/PR events and inaugural crew selection activities.
- Support cabin crew recruitment activities, including career fairs and roadshows.
- Assist with WS DIP programme and other crew development initiatives as required.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned to support Cabin Services objectives.
Key Requirements
Mandatory
- Proven experience leading training, coaching, or learning operations teams (preferably in aviation, hospitality, or service-intensive environments).
- Strong knowledge of training governance and quality assurance, with the ability to maintain consistent delivery standards.
- Demonstrated capability in curriculum management and instructional design, including change tracking and version control.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner across Cabin Services, HR, and operational teams.
- Strong communication and coaching skills, with a track record of developing trainers/mentors and building team engagement.
Preferred
- Familiarity with regulatory training requirements in an aviation context (e.g., safety/SEP-related training, past flying experience as cabin crew).
- Hands-on experience managing an LMS and training systems, including reporting and data-driven improvements.
- Experience managing training budgets, resource planning, and/or grant applications.
- Exposure to service culture programmes (e.g., service principles, culture values, service DNA frameworks).
