Marketing Coordinator  CITY OF FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA

Starting Hourly Rate: $17.82/hour - $19.60/hour Part-Time Position Essential Work Serving Your Community!

 

What You’ll Do

Communications and Marketing Support Assist in the implementation of various communications strategies and campaigns, creating departmental materials like newsletters, and supporting the Fredericksburg Regional Transit’s Marketing Plan. It also includes managing web page content and layout, as well as developing and supporting social media strategies on platforms like Facebook and Twitter.	Public Engagement and Distribution Collaborate on public timetables and schedules, distribute printed timetables, and update displays throughout the community. It also covers supporting daily customer communications, including posting customer alerts.
Content Creation and Management Take photographs or make videos for marketing purposes and manage customer signage inventory, placement, and design. This role will also create publication materials such as brochures and fact sheets, and support the content management of the transit intranet page in line with internal branding and messaging.	Administrative and Miscellaneous Duties Maintain a personal calendar of projects, events, and activities, along with performing various other assigned duties.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or college coursework in marketing, communication, public relations, graphic design, business, or a related field preferred.
• Proficient with CANVA, Social Media (including Facebook, Twitter) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• A valid Virginia Driver’s license.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year experience in marketing, communications, social media, public relations, or related field.
• Experience in Adobe Suites.
