Description
EDUCATION: Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
Dilploma or Degree in Operations Management or Mechanical Engineering
Fitter and Turner Trade will be advantageous
EXPERIENCE: 5-8 years experience within a manufacturing environment
1 year pumps experience
REQUIREMENTS:Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP system
Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and process optimisation
- Control and manage the operational function of engineered pumps manufacturing.
- Ensure all engineered pumps comply with technical and quality standards.
- Oversee health, safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.
- Manage employee timekeeping, attendance and absenteeism.
- Plan work schedules to support cost-effective production and timely delivery and monitor and control excess time and overtime within the division.
- Maintain on time delivery and turnover targets set by senior management.
- Monitor and reduce scrap levels through corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement through problem-solving and innovation.
- Lead training and development initiatives for employees.
- Manage all aspects of manufacturing and quality within the engineered pumps plant.
- Apply CIP methods to minimize costs and optimize resource use.
- Implement advanced processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain written work instructions and toolbox talks.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage staff development and labor relations.
- Comply with and enforce all KSB policies and procedures
- Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required
Carry out all other reasonable tasks that may be delegated from time to time
