Head of Machining Local

EDUCATION:        Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent

                               Dilploma or Degree in Operations Management or Mechanical Engineering

                               Fitter and Turner Trade will be advantageous

EXPERIENCE:       5-8 years experience within a manufacturing environment

                               1 year pumps experience

REQUIREMENTS:Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP system

                               Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and process optimisation                    

• Control and manage the operational function of engineered pumps manufacturing.
• Ensure all engineered pumps comply with technical and quality standards.
• Oversee health, safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.
• Manage employee timekeeping, attendance and absenteeism. 
• Plan work schedules to support cost-effective production and timely delivery and monitor and control excess time and overtime within the division.
• Maintain on time delivery and turnover targets set by senior management.
• Monitor and reduce scrap levels through corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement through problem-solving and innovation.
• Lead training and development initiatives for employees.
• Manage all aspects of manufacturing and quality within the engineered pumps plant.
• Apply CIP methods to minimize costs and optimize resource use.
• Implement advanced processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain written work instructions and toolbox talks.
• Conduct performance reviews and manage staff development and labor relations.
• Comply with and enforce all KSB policies and procedures
• Assist fellow employees with daily functions as and when required
