Description

Role Summary

As an Azure Infrastructure & DevOps Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure solutions with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code at the core. You will be the technical authority on cloud migration, landing zone design, platform engineering, and DevOps transformation engagements — and as an early member of our India practice, you will also support pre-sales, solution shaping, and capability building.

Key Responsibilities

Solution architecture & delivery

  • Architect end-to-end Azure infrastructure solutions: landing zones (CAF/Enterprise-Scale), networking, identity, security, and governance

  • Lead datacenter-to-Azure migration programs, including discovery, assessment, wave planning, and cutover

  • Design hybrid and multi-region architectures covering connectivity (ExpressRoute, VPN), resilience, DR, and backup strategies

  • Define and enforce Well-Architected Framework standards across cost, security, reliability, performance, and operational excellence

  • Establish "everything as code" delivery: all infrastructure provisioned and managed through IaC (Bicep, Terraform) with no click-ops in production

  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, including automated validation, what-if/plan gates, and approval workflows

Pre-sales & business development

  • Support RFP/RFI responses with solution architecture, effort estimation, and delivery approach

  • Lead client workshops, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept engagements

  • Shape Microsoft-funded engagements (assessments, pilots) and work with Microsoft field teams on co-sell opportunities

.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering (or equivalent experience).

  • 12+ years of infrastructure experience, with 5+ years architecting solutions on Microsoft Azure

  • Deep expertise across Azure IaaS/PaaS: compute, networking (hub-spoke, Virtual WAN, firewalls, load balancing), storage, and identity (Entra ID, hybrid identity)

  • Expert-level Infrastructure-as-Code skills: Terraform (modules, state management, workspaces) and/or Bicep, with production experience managing large estates through code

  • Strong CI/CD engineering with Azure DevOps (YAML pipelines) and/or GitHub Actions, including infrastructure deployment pipelines with automated testing and gates

  • Proficiency in scripting and automation: PowerShell and at least one of Python/Bash

  • Working knowledge of Git workflows, code review practices, and trunk-based or GitFlow branching models

  • Proven track record delivering large-scale migrations (VMware/Hyper-V/physical to Azure) and Azure landing zone implementations

  • Strong grounding in Azure security and governance: Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure Policy, RBAC, Key Vault

  • Experience with FinOps/cost optimization and Azure Well-Architected reviews

  • Excellent client-facing communication — able to engage from engineer to CIO level

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) required
