About the role
St John of God Subiaco Hospital is seeking experienced, dynamic, and flexible Casual Enrolled & Registered Nurses to join our vibrant Short Stay Unit (SSU). Join our fast-paced and supportive Short Stay Unit, where you'll make a real impact on patients' lives. We're a small, close-knit team that values collaboration and a positive work environment.
Our Short Stay Unit is a purpose built, state of the art day surgery facility featuring 3 operating theatres and 23 beds. We provide services to a variety of day surgical specialties, including a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit provides a high standard of patient care and recovery for post-surgery/procedures. Our unit specialises in a high turnover of cases, including pain management, urology, and plastics.
Those with recent clinical experience in an acute surgical or perioperative setting with relevant specialty experience required for Scrub/Scout roles are encouraged to apply. 1. Perioperative Scrub/Scout Nurses
Specialties: Gynaecology, Urology, Plastic Surgery, Dental, and Pain Management.
Allowance: A lead allowance is applicable for shifts worked within the Pain specialty.
Deliver high-standard intraoperative clinical care, assist surgeons as a scrub or scout nurse, maintain strict sterile techniques, and ensure patient safety throughout surgical procedures.
Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide optimal outcomes for patients.
Be a patient advocate, ensuring that their rights are upheld and their voices are heard.
Promote a welcoming, compassionate environment for patients and their families.
Demonstrate excellence in clinical practice, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
Assist in managing patient flow and provide pre and post-operative care.
2. Admissions & Discharge Nurses
Coordinate smooth and efficient patient journeys into and out of the Short Stay Unit. Conduct thorough pre-admission assessments, deliver comprehensive discharge education, and provide compassionate perioperative care.
Your skills and experience
You will demonstrate excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care. With a proactive and compassionate approach, you will be committed to achieving positive outcomes for patients while working collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.
The successful applicant will hold current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and have experience in the areas of scrub/scout, admission/discharge and an anaesthetic nurse.

We can offer you
Enrolled Nurse Salary: $72,637 to $94,929 (pro rata for part-time), plus 12% superannuation
Enrolled Nurse Casual Rate: $45.80 to $59.85 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
Registered Nurse Salary: $82,945 to $106,630 (pro rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation
Registered Nurse Casual Rate: $52.30to $67.24 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
Permanent full-time, part-time or casual positions available
