Senior Accountant (Temp-to-Hire)
Reports to: VP of Accounting & Controller
Hourly Pay Range: $80K-101K
Position can work from one of these two offices:
- Location: San Diego, CA; Hybrid Schedule 3-days onsite/2-days remote, Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30
- Location: Atlanta, GA; Hybrid Schedule 1-day onsite.4-days remote, Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30
General Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial activities. Reports to VP of Accounting & Controller.
Responsibilities:
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Audit and enter loan & lease information into multiple software applications
• Generate reports and other sensitive information for both internal and external users
• Coordinate with team members on specific loan & lease-related tasks
• Transmit daily loan & lease ACH and/or wires
• Provide administrative assistance when necessary to help ensure a clean and timely month end close
• Collaborate with Accounting Manager/Supervisor and team members to support overall department goals and objectives
• Support Accounting Manager/Supervisor with projects on an as-needed basis
• Maintain regulatory compliance through quarterly web-based training
• Performs other duties as assigned to include cross training within the department.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience of professional accounting experience demonstrating full range of professional competency.
• 2 years’ demonstrated experience providing technical leadership to professional staff and managing complex accounting functions. This role does not have direct reports.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate with data entry and transaction processing
• Ability to accurately review, analyze, and verify data in a timely fashion
• Must be able to effectively manage and maintain electronic documents ensuring confidentiality
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
• Minimum Associates degree in Accounting, Business, or other finance related discipline. Bachelor’s degree in related field highly preferred
• CPA, CMA or equivalent licensure highly preferred.
• Requires some direction on more complex matters.
• Works independently on matters of increasing complexity and scope.
• May lead projects of limited scope and provides training and constructive input to team members.
• Microsoft Dynamic 365 BusinessCentral, GreatPlains or NetSuite experience a plus.
• Microsoft Office proficiency required.
Physical Demands:
• Working in a temperature-controlled office environment
• Sitting at a desk for long periods of time while viewing multiple computer screen monitors
• Potential lifting of boxes up to 10lbs
• Occasional overtime
