Description
What you can expect from us
As the business-side EWM project lead, you take overall responsibility in our client projects for the planning, management and successful implementation of our SAP EWM initiatives from a Logistics perspective.
You ensure that our clients’ operational requirements define the framework for the solution. To achieve this, you define functional objectives together with the client, set priorities and steer internal IT, external SAP consultants and other service providers so that robust, practical and sustainable solutions are delivered.
You act as the central interface between Logistics, IT and implementation partners and represent our clients’ business interests clearly and consistently.
Your Responsibilities
- You are responsible for the overall functional management of SAP EWM projects for our clients, including implementation, roll-out, optimization and, where applicable, migration from SAP WM to SAP EWM, from a Logistics / Supply Chain perspective.
- Together with our clients, you define the functional objectives, requirements and success criteria for warehouse and intralogistics processes and ensure that these are implemented consistently by IT and implementation partners.
- You coordinate and lead functional key users, process owners and, where applicable, internal EWM experts on the client side and support the development of a strong and reliable business team around EWM.
- You manage external SAP implementation partners, developers and technical service providers from a functional perspective: you define requirements, priorities and acceptance criteria and monitor the quality of delivery.
- You are responsible for functional test management, including test design, test cases, UAT and sign-off, as well as business-side cutover planning and the preparation and support of go-live and the hypercare phase.
- You establish clear project governance from a business perspective, including decision-making processes, escalation paths, status reporting to Logistics management and the steering committee, as well as issue and change management.
- You drive change communication, training and employee enablement on the client side and ensure that a capable and sustainable business organization is in place after project completion.
Who you are
You combine strong logistics and process expertise with a good understanding of SAP EWM and the ability to translate business requirements into robust, practical solutions. You are comfortable navigating complex project and decision-making environments, manage different stakeholders with clarity and commitment, and challenge existing approaches with confidence. At the same time, you are comfortable working in a consulting environment and take ownership in demanding client projects.
In addition, you bring the following:
- At least 5 years of experience in management consulting or in relevant industry roles with a focus on Logistics, Intralogistics or Supply Chain, ideally with responsibility for warehouse, distribution or production logistics.
- A university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or a comparable qualification.
- A strong understanding of warehouse and intralogistics processes, including goods receipt, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, inventory and returns, as well as their interfaces with Production, Sales and Quality Management.
- Experience in leading or playing a key role in the management of digitalization or SAP projects, ideally with a focus on SAP EWM and/or SAP S/4HANA.
- A good practical understanding of SAP EWM and related logistics modules such as MM, SD, PP, QM and, where applicable, TM, without the need for deep technical customizing expertise.
- Proven expertise in requirements management, process design, test management, change management and stakeholder management.
- Experience in managing external SAP implementation partners and interdisciplinary teams, as well as the ability to provide clear functional leadership to IT teams and consultants.
- A structured, solution-oriented and dependable way of working, combined with assertiveness, diplomatic skills and a hands-on mindset.
- Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken.
