Description

Transform lives, every single day

Do you want a career that means more?

At Anglicare Sydney, we have been serving people, enriching lives and strengthening communities for more than 170 years. As one of Australia's largest Christian organisations, we support thousands of older people, families, children and individuals through aged care, community services, housing and community services programs.

We have an exciting 6-month max-term opportunity within our Finance team. As our Process Optimisation Specialist, you'll play a key role in modernising financial operations, identifying efficiencies and driving sustainable improvements across the Finance function. This role offers the opportunity to influence broader finance transformation initiatives over time

Your opportunity

You will work alongside the Financial Controller to understand what our finance processes are intended to achieve, why they are performed, and whether there is a simpler, stronger and more sustainable way to deliver the outcome.

You will follow the processes from beginning to end, from source transaction and journal entry through to balance sheet reconciliation, financial reporting and audit evidence. It combines hands-on delivery with process redesign, root-cause analysis and practical implementation.

With integrity and resilience, you will:

  • Analyse and optimise finance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy and performance
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across financial workflows and reporting processes
  • Support finance transformation projects, system enhancements and process improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to standardise, automate or eliminate manual activities using existing systems, Excel, Power Query, workflow tools, reconciliation technology and AI-enabled tools.
  • Develop and document best-practice financial processes, controls and operating procedures
  • Partner with stakeholders to support change management, training and adoption of new ways of working

What you'll bring

You are a finance professional who enjoys solving problems, driving improvement and making processes work better. You combine strong financial knowledge with a curious mindset and thrive when collaborating across teams to deliver change.

What's required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline
  • Currently completing CPA or an equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong experience in aged care billing, revenue management and finance operations
  • Previous experience delivering finance process improvement or transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify opportunities for operational efficiency

What's preferred:

  • Experience implementing process automation and digital improvement initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and change management capability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Power Query, Power BI, workflow automation, reconciliation software or AI-enabled finance tools
  • Experience supporting change, facilitation, training or process documentation
