Class 1 Semi Vac & Tanker Operators – Conklin, AB
Xtreme Oilfield is seeking experienced Class 1 Semi Vac and Tanker Operators to join our team. While the main shop is based out of St. Paul, AB, this role is camp-based in Conklin, AB with flexible shift schedules to support work-life balance.
We are looking for operators with a mixture of experience across Water, Combo, Pressure, and Vacuum operations, not just vacuum-specific roles.

Responsibilities
-
Safely operate semi vacs, tankers, body vacs, and tri-tri setups in all weather and ground conditions.

Accurately complete digital and paper logs, including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver’s Logs, Pre/Post-Trip Inspections, and FLRA / Daily Tailgate Safety Forms.

Facilitate field training, coaching, and safety oversight for new operators and trainees as needed.

Partner with Operations and Safety teams to review and improve Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and field hazard assessments.

Strict adherence to project scopes, site safety protocols, client contract standards, and corporate policies.

Perform rigorous field tasks in extreme seasonal conditions (heat, cold, heights, noise, and confined areas).
Physical Requirements & Daily Tasks
-
Lift and maneuver 3” and 4” vacuum hoses frequently (20-30 lbs).

Thread fittings into tank valves and operate manual valves (5-10 lbs of force).

Connect hammer unions to stinger barrels using brass/slugging hammers (5 lbs).

Pull and rack heavy stingers regularly (30-40 lbs of force).

Stand, crouch, crawl, or work in tight spaces for extended periods, lifting up to 50+ lbs as required.
Qualifications & Requirements

Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brakes (Q Endorsement) and a clean commercial driver's abstract.

Proven ability to operate a manual transmission.

Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in oilfield fluid hauling / well servicing. Experience with semi vacs and tankers is strongly preferred.

Active Safety Tickets (Confined Space, CSO, First Aid, H2S Alive, and WHMIS)

Must successfully pass pre-employment background and drug & alcohol screening, with ongoing compliance verification per company policy.
