Technician, Quality Control
Location: Midrand, South Africa
On-Site
As our successful Technician, Quality Control, you will be responsible for conducting quality control analyses, accurately recording and reporting results, and managing quality-related deviations.
You will play a key role in ensuring that products consistently meet defined quality standards and regulatory requirements, supporting the manufacture of safe, reliable products while maintaining customer confidence and satisfaction.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Lab Tests: Independently and impartially carry out routine quality control analyses following set procedures.
- Data Integrity & Documentation: Confidently handle all steps of testing, including preparation, execution, and accurate documentation.
- Check Results: Review test results for accuracy and consistency before submission.
- Report Issues: Identify and report any quality deviations according to protocols.
- Initial OOS Testing: Conduct first-level tests for out-of-spec results as per procedures.
- Escalate Issues: Identify recurring problems and escalate them to the appropriate person or team.
- Maintain Equipment: Take care of assigned lab equipment, including calibration and basic maintenance, following GLP and safety standards.
- Meet Deadlines: Complete tests and submit results within required timeframes.
- Follow Safety Rules: Work in line with all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) guidelines.
- Problem Solving: Analyse special samples to help resolve lab or support in production issues.
- Manage Supplies: Order and manage lab materials and reagents to avoid shortages.
- Flexibility: Perform other tasks as needed to support lab operations.
- Environmental Monitoring: Follow the schedule and ensure results are logged in on time and notifications raised on time.
- Good Laboratory Practice: Ensure Quality essentials program is followed and pillars adhered to. Maintain key performance target for the laboratory.
- Food Safety: Ensure compliance on food safety regulatory requirements and customer requirements as per FSSC global standard.

You bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, food technology or a related field preferred.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make sound decisions to uphold quality standards.
- Attention to Detail: Careful and precise in identifying even small deviations or defects in products or processes.
- Communication Skills: Effectively share findings, provide clear feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identify issues and contribute to practical, timely solutions.
- Team Collaboration: Work well with others, support team goals, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with the ability to prioritize effectively
