About the role
We are looking for an experienced GA & OTC Team Manager to lead a team responsible for delivering high-quality accounting operations across General Accounting (GA) and Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes.
In this role, you will manage day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and support the development of a high-performing team.
You will work closely with Finance teams, business stakeholders and external partners to ensure service excellence, operational efficiency and the timely resolution of issues. The role requires a strong combination of people leadership, accounting knowledge, stakeholder management and process improvement capabilities within an international environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop a team of accounting professionals responsible for GA and OTC processes.
- Set clear objectives, priorities and performance expectations for team members.
- Support employee development, succession planning and talent management activities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Manage workload allocation, capacity planning and operational priorities.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of accounting services in line with agreed SLAs and KPIs.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end activities within the assigned scope.
- Monitor operational performance and proactively identify process risks, control gaps and service issues.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, audit requirements and operational procedures.
- Act as an escalation point for complex accounting, operational and stakeholder-related matters.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Finance teams, business units, auditors and external partners.
- Provide regular updates on team performance, operational risks, key issues and improvement activities.
- Drive process standardisation, simplification, automation and continuous improvement across GA and OTC.
- Participate in Finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements and ERP implementation projects.
- Use operational data and performance insights to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and customer experience.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure that required documentation and evidence are provided.
- Maintain current and accurate process documentation, procedures and controls.
- Support a smooth transition of new activities into the team, including knowledge transfer, resource planning and operational readiness.
What you'll bring
- Experience managing both GA and OTC processes
- Significant experience in Finance Operations, Shared Services or GBS environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of General Accounting, General Ledger, Order-to-Cash processes.
- 3+ years of previous experience leading people and managing an operational Finance team.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end processes, financial controls and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing operational delivery against SLAs, KPIs and quality standards.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships in an international environment.
- Experience handling escalations and resolving complex operational or process-related issues.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, standardisation and change initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, influencing and people management skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar.
- Ability to prioritise effectively, allocate resources and manage competing operational demands.
- Experience working in an international and cross-functional environment.
- Fluent English, minimum B2/C1 level.
- Professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent, would-be a plus.
- Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
