Plant Mechanic - Chemical Industry

Position Description:

Perform construction, repairs, and preventative maintenance required to keep plant operational. Responsibilities include pipefitting, welding, rotating equipment maintenance, electrolyzer repair, and basic electrical repair.

Key Responsibilities:

• HSSEE – Perform responsibilities in a safe, secure, and environmentally responsible manner.
• Inform supervisor of requirements for safe performance of assigned job tasks.
• Request and/or fill out hot work permits for job tasks requiring welding, cutting or open sparks.
• Request vessel entry permits for job tasks requiring confined space entry.
• Attend all plant site safety meetings.
• Clean up work area at the end of task or work day.
• Organize tool boxes and storage areas.
• Inform Maintenance Supervisor of equipment, material or facilities required for proper housekeeping.
• Complete and document all work orders.
• Attend in-house seminars to enhance existing skills and develop new skills.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• High School Education
• 3 - 5 years industrial experience

Maintenance levels and responsibilities are assigned based on the level of knowledge of the associate based on skills as identified in the Mechanic Advancement Matrix.
