Summary :
The Medical Records Analyst reviews, processes, and maintains the accuracy and quality of patient medical records in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of ThedaCare.Job Description:
Schedule:
Mon - Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm (Flexible)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Processes and analyzes medical records for completeness against approved completion policies.
Abstracts and scans appropriate clinical and administrative documentation into patient paper or electronic medical records in a timely manner to ensure availability for continuum of care.
Audits, follows up, and checks in physician orders and plans of care to meet clinical care documentation and billing compliance.
Reviews requests and submits necessary chart documentation to comply with payer audits, accreditations, and government regulations.
Processes patient release of information requests in accordance with ThedaCare policy to meet health information and HIPAA regulatory requirements.
Coordinates storage and destruction of required paper documentation according to ThedaCare policy to meet legal requirements.
Reviews and submits data sets to CMS for compliance with state regulations.
Provides support services within the defined service area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED preferred
Must be 18 years of age
Two years of experience in medical office or hospital medical records
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normally works in climate controlled office environment
Frequent sitting with movement throughout office space
Use of computers throughout the work day
Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers
